Rebellion

Under what circumstances is it morally acceptable to rebel against the government?”

We have every right as citizens of the United States to rebel against our government when we feel the circumstances are sufficient enough to take that very step. Before we do this however, we need to examine our government and decide whether or not there is a need to rebel.

One circumstance that would enable us to rebel is if the government was not putting the needs of its people first. The rights of the citizens of the United States are the most important and should be what the government is trying to improve on and putting this first. We, as people, elect others to represent us in this world. When those representatives no longer act based on what is right for the people, this is a great example of when we should rise up and replace the government with one that does.

Some citizens may disagree with a few of their views on life such as war. If the government wants to go to war and the people feel hat they have no reason to do so, they may feel the need to rebel and voice their opinion openly. This is understandable and should happen, if the majority of the people feel that way. However, if a small minority disagree with the government, they should reevaluate their thoughts and think about why they are feeling the way they do.

In the end, you need to stand up for what you believe in. If you strongly disagree with your government, voice your opinion and you might be heard.

Should We Ever Attempt to Limit Technology

January 18th, 2010 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

In today’s world, technology is slowly taking over our lives. It seems as if the majority of people are dependent on it. I feel that much technology is very good and useful, however, too many take it for granted. For example, teenagers always want the newest technology, such as cell phones, ipods, cameras, and laptops. Some people get a new cell phone every year or even sooner. Technology is also an outstanding invention. Computers allow us to do extensive research and learn more than ever before. Medical technology is, in my opinion one of the most useful and astonishing technology known to man. This helps with surgery and in many cases, saves lives. Technology gives us a lot of entertainment as well which is needed after a long day of work or a stress-filled day. Relaxing is essential to a healthy life. Television, ipods, cell phones, and computers are a great way to relax and obtain great entertainment. Therefore, I feel as if technology could be limited slightly, however, it is very useful to us today.

“Under what circumstances is it morally acceptable to rebel against the government?”

Freedom of speech is crucially important when it comes to matters of the government. Many things that the government agrees with, we as Americans do not. Your opinion should be relevant to the government because we have the power to change things we do not believe in. I believe it is morally acceptable to rebel against the government when the cause benefits people and makes for a safer better world for all of us.

Should America Welcome All Who Wish To Come?

September 30th, 2009 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

America has been filled with the question, “Should we allow the immigrants to come here?”. This question has been a hard one to answer over the years. We have so many pros and cons on this subject which makes it difficult to know how to handle the issue. We, as Americans, have a right to be concerned on whether or not immigrants are going to be coming here and taking our jobs. This has been a major problem we have had to face.
Immigration helps keep the economy moving by filling the jobs of low-wages which many Americans do not wish to obtain. There are many people in different countries who have no money which means no job, no shelter, no food, no education, and no medical attention. I feel these people need a start at a better life. Migrating here would give them political freedom, religious freedom, and better land, jobs, and food supply.  Immigration expands the culture in our country, making it a more diverse place. There are many intelligent and skillful people in different countries who have much to offer America. If we allow them to migrate here, the overall image of the United States will make us seem more welcoming and more open.
Immigration causes an overpopulation and crowding in the United States. Viruses, bacteria, and diseases can be transferred between countries. This is putting the Americans’ health at an extremely high risk. If less educated immigrants are migrating here, they are believed to increase the rate of theft, violence, or other crimes. Many of the poor immigrants require a lot of health care, education, and welfare without paying a high rate of taxes which is needed for those things.
Due to all the facts we have on immigration, I feel that America should not welcome “all” who wish to come. We should, however, inspect them thoroughly and make sure they are fitting to come here. They should be free of all health problems, have a good understanding of the English language, and be highly skilled and educated. However, we cannot only accept those of these standards. We need diverse people such as lower-class immigrants who are willing to do the jobs that many Americans do not want. As an American, I feel extremely saddened at the thought of so many people in hard times in their own countries. Some of these people, especially those with children without food and shelter, deserve the best possible life that they could have. For this reason, I believe that many need to come to America to survive a decent life. There are many, however, who do not have a sufficient reason for coming here and would be a burden.

Should America welcome all who wish to come?

Immigration has been a large debate in the world and a controversy among the Americans. There are a few reasons why immigrants bring struggle to us in the United States. For example, they have been taking jobs from well deserving Americans. There is a major cultural difference between us and the immigrants including language and religion.

However, overall, I feel that everyone has a right to freedom and should have the best opportunities possible and available for them. It has been stated that immigrants have actually helped our economy. They are also very hard workers and work for lower wages. I think that people should migrate here and do so legally, however. To conclude, I feel that all immigrants are people and deserve all of the rights and privileges that the Americans have.
